All you need to know about T-shirt printing

All you need to know about T-shirt printing

T-shirt printing is a process wherein a logo or an illustration is transferred to the textile to stay there on a permanent basis. So if you keep in mind some of these techniques available then best results can be guaranteed.
·         There are three choices in the printing techniques, screen printing, DTG or heat press. In the first instance, a squeegee is used to transfer the paint or the ink to the t-shirt and different screens are created that represent different colours. In heat transfer, vinyl designs are transferred to the textiles with the help of heat press. In Direct-to-Garment, the appearance of the illustration on the t-shirt is made with an ink-printer just like machines are used to print paper. Though each process has its advantages, screen printing is widely used to deliver the most durable finish.
·         Another very important criterion is deciding on the number of colours to be used.  This is because manufacturing cost is highly dependent on the number of colours used as separate screen needs to be created for every colour used in the illustration.
·         Since in screen printing, the cost incurred is directly proportional to the volume, so even if rates vary across providers, it is a thumb rule that screen printing becomes viable when a hundred pieces are ordered.
·         The logo size plays an important factor when screen printing is done. Regular printing presses use screens not exceeding A4 or A3 size.
·         The textile material plays an important role and cotton needs to be avoided if you want to develop a brand. Instead combed ring spun, spandex and polyester are good choices.
