Car parking is one of the unavoidable facility you would need everyday wherever you go. Cars or personal vehicles needs to be secured and protected even if you are not near it or away for some work – car parking management just makes sure that this aspect is taken well care of. The most important aspect of car parking is security, which is often overlooked unfortunately. However, car parking management can be made more efficient and systematic with tightened security if some steps are adopted that is discussed below –
Use CCTV surveillance – Once the cars are entering the parking lot after purchasing the parking tickets, it should be under CCTV coverage. The lanes and corners of the space should have cameras projected in every possible angle. Usage of CCTV cameras has helped to reduce crime rates to a great degree; it helps to prevent theft and also violent crimes. Cameras help the authorities to keep a close watch on the parking violators. Keep a sign at the entrance of the parking lot mentioning about CCTV coverage to make it a powerful deterrent.
Proper lighting – Crimes usually take place at night time. Extend the daylight possibilities as much as possible. Use life size glass panes so that natural light is available for long hours; even when dark use fluorescent light of high wattage at every parking lane to check unruly activities. Some parking lots use the glittering reflectors in parking lots; they are extremely useful in parking lots.
Have police or security personnel – Even if you have all the gadgets in use, parkingenforcement in manual utility is unmatched. Hire campus police or security agents who will be present on the spot round the clock in shifts. They should do routine checks on each and every car in particular intervals and also see the parking lot minutely if anything suspicious occurs.
